I certainly enjoyed my time away but yay for being home!! I cannot wait to sleep in my own bed tonight...and to sleep in general. I think tonight is going to be one of those nights where I fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow. Wow, I have been soooo busy!!

West Virginia was very nice. As I mentioned in my earlier blog, I had to drive to Pittsburgh to go pick up my uncle, and then down to WV to watch him give his speech. Well, even though I made it to Pittsburgh with no problems, it was a ride full of adventure nonetheless. It snowed practically my whole way there. And, it wasn't just a light snow. It was chunks of ice, wind, and huge snowflakes. It was insane! I couldn't believe it was late April. But, how fun to be out in it though. It really was a fun surprise...especially for my uncle who hardly sees snow. WV was exactly how I pictured it. A nice state, but I don't know if I would want to live there. But that's what I thought about NJ a couple of years ago...lol

Then I drove from WV to NY for a work conference thing. It was good and I just returned home from that a few hours ago. I can't believe summer is just around the corner. (That's what we were preparing for at the camp.) Wow how time flies.

Have you ever been attacked by a Canadian goose? We have tons of those here. I was attacked by one in VA when I was with Jen and Kristin. It was hilarious and scary all at the same time. I'm sure it was a sight to behold. Then that goose, who I'm sure was on crack or something, went after Jen. Anyway, we have tons of Canadian geese who hang out by my office. I am literally scared of those stupid things now...lol I will not walk by them for fear they will fly at my head like last time. I know that was a random thought, but for some reason I felt like venting about my new Canadian geese paranoia...lol

Speaking of Kristin, she is coming to Jersey tomorrow!! Woo-hoo!!

And to all my ADX ladies... WHO IS GOING TO SPILL THE BEANS ABOUT THE FLIPPIN CP???? GEEEEEZZZ!! I CAN'T TAKE THE SUSPENSE.;) No, really, to whomever it is, congratulations. How wonderful.

Alright, I'm outtie.

Happy Saturday!

Gosh, it has been a few days since I have written. That's weird for me as I am never at a loss of words to say. So, I will try to catch you up on what has been happening the last few days. I think the last time I posted an entry was Saturday. Well, I went to Lake Champion in New York and really enjoyed my time with the other staff women. We laughed, cried, shared stories, ate, took walks, and just enjoyed the scenery. It was great. The rest of the week flew by. I had something going every single night and work kept me busy, busy, busy during the day. Sometimes people wonder what I do all day, because they only see me in the afternoons or evenings when I am with kids. I just laugh to myself and wish they could walk in my shoes. Then I think they would appreciate just how much work really does go on behind the scenes of a ministry!!!

Today has been my first "take it easy and slow down" day. I finally picked up all the junk that was covering the floors and tables of my house. Then I had lunch with two high school girls. It was great. Then we went to Borders (she just got her license and was excited to drive me around. I am, thankfully, still alive. Actually, she was a wonderful driver!!) and browsed around. That store is so much fun - it can get me into trouble!! Then they left to go home and I had to run a huge amount of errands. I then rented two movies and came home. I have a butt-load of postcards to address, stamp, and send out for work. So I just finished the one movie (The Notebook...LOVE IT) and got the majority of my work done while watching that. Now I am taking a little break and will get some dinner and do some other things before finishing up with more postcard funness (yes, I know that's not a word) and the second movie.

Oh, I also caught up with some friends and family on the phone too. That's always nice.

It is raining here off and on today. They said it was supposed to thunderstorm and whatnot but so far none of that exciting stuff has happened. Being a CA girl I was kinda looking forward to hearing some thunder. I'm sure people here think nothing of it, but to me it is all very exciting. East Coast weather is soooo different compared with my SJV.

I have a busy week ahead of me. Tomorrow I am going to go pick up my uncle from the airport in Pittsburgh. I have never been to Pittsburgh. The furthest west I have been in PA has been the central to south-central PA areas. It should be an experience. I LOVE PA. Seriously. I will end up living there someday. People laugh at me when I say that, but I have felt that way for several years now. And no, there isn't any particular reason...I am just drawn to it. I actually have been trying to stay away from central PA for some certain reasons, so I hope driving through it will be alright tomorrow. I'm sure it will be. ..lol

I am talking with Carrie right now who is one of my dear friends so this is a little shout out to her... C.S.S. You're the best!!! (Yeah, you know what those initials stand for...lol...)

OK, so after the big PA drive and all that entails, I am going back to NY. Yes, the same place I was at last week. UGH!!! I do like Champion but come on now!! No, it's not that bad. I have to go to assignment training. So, that should be good and then it is back to home sweet home. OH! This Saturday is our art auction and silent auction for YLWJ. PLEASE COME OUT AND SUPPORT US!!! Seriously, I would love to have you. Even if you don't want to bid on anything at all, come for support for me. Having your shining faces there would be awesome and mean a lot.

Personally I am doing well. Although, I have had some unexpected things happen this week that I can't go into in this format, but please be praying for me. I keep thinking of that hymn, "It is well with my soul." It's a good one. Singing it in my head helps me to keep my chin up. Oh, don't worry, I'm fine. Life is really good, promise!!

Alright, that's about it for now. I'll be gone until Thursday, so don't miss me or these uber-exciting posts too much.;) Call me or somethin' OK?

I'm off to eat dinner...have a wonderful evening! Isn't God good? Aren't we SO BLESSED?

Have you ever had days that things don't necessarily go the way you had planned or were hoping for, but you still have a great day? That was my day today. I was certainly glad it was Saturday though.

I had 6 high school girls over for breakfast - Katie, Katie, Kristin, Jess, Meagan and Shannon. That was fun. We ate bagels and fruit salad (the bagels are INCREDIBLE over here) and talked a lot. It was a nice time with them, and I was reminded how much I enjoy hanging out with kids. I am blessed to have a job that allows me to do something I thoroughly enjoy...even if it does mean I have to wake up early on a Saturday morning sometimes.;) Anyway, Shannon stayed after the rest of the girls left and we watched "Mean Girls." If you haven't seen it, see it. Totally cute movie.

So after that it was like 1 PM. I had to run to Ringoes and then came back here for a little nap. Then came the dreaded laundry. How I loathe the laundromat. I think just the fact that I have to pay money to do my laundry irks me...lol I'm glad to have it done though, but now it is sitting in the basket on my floor and waiting to be hung up. Such fun.:) Then I had some "me" time this evening. I was planning on going out with a friend of mine, but after that fell through I thought that I would just take it easy. I guess that's the part of my day that changed on me. On one hand I totally would have loved to see this certain friend, but on the other hand it was nice just doing "nothing."

Although my friend Katie (yes, the third Katie I know from this area) called me to go out for dessert and I totally need to call her back. Katie if you are reading this I promise to call you back - I don't know why I keep missing your calls! My cell phone reception can be ultra lame in my house. But I'll call you tomorrow - or email!

So sometimes I like to go for random drives and tonight I went to Clinton. Kristin - I totally have to take you there...It's great! I drove by Cracker Barrel too and saw their cute white rocking chairs outside. I would love to put a couple of those on my porch...but they are over $100 each. Yeah right! Plus, I don't want them to get stolen like my welcome sign and flag did. You heard me right, someone stole my flag. How unpatriotic!! lol

Tomorrow I am going to NY. I have a staff women's overnight thing at Lake Champion. It should be kinda fun, actually. We'll see how it goes. I enjoy spending time with the people I work with, but sometimes I wish it didn't have to be on days where I have to miss church. Oh well!!

Oh...I also got to talk to my friend (and pledge sister) Jerelyn today. It had been far too long and it was great to catch up. I love my friends - seriously, I am so blessed!!

Alright, I guess that's all for now. I thought I had posted some pics but I guess I did it wrong. I'll try to figure that out and get some pictures up for you to see. Also, I changed the comment section, so you don't have to be a "blogger" to post some feedback. So...leave me some love!!

Have a great night! The laundry is calling my name so I better get to it...

Welcome to my blog!

Well, I am giving in and (happily) doing a blog. I have loved reading all of yours, and now have decided to join in on the fun. I look forward to hearing your comments on my life...(not that it is THAT exciting.;))

New Jersey is well, Jersey. I am very happy here though, don't get me wrong. God has really provided and it feels like home. I don't know if I will live here for the rest of my life, but I do see myself staying on the East Coast. Who knows though?? A year ago I certainly wouldn't have guessed that I would be here. God is so great that way.

Today was a fun day. I went and met with a pastor of a local church here, and then had to go to Langhorne, PA for a bit. (Did you know I am getting my Masters? Yep, in Christian Counseling. The school is in PA.) Anyway, it is about a 45 min. drive, and I took most of it along the Delaware River. (Did you hear that there is a beluga whale who has been spotted in the river? Too funny!!) I love the drives over here so it was nice. Then I went back to work in my office, had a guitar lesson, met with another pastor (very nice guy) and I am finally home. Good stuff!

Young Life is moving right along. I LOVE MY JOB. It certainly has its moments where I want to pull my hair out or cry or go eat a huge bar of chocolate, but I am hanging in there. The good so outweighs the bad. The kids are great. The committee is great. It has been a good fit/partnership.

It was a beautiful day today. I hope you are enjoying nice weather too!

So, I haven't decided who all to include on my mailing address for my blog - so I better not open up about everything...lol Guess that means you will have to call me to get the full scoop.;) Anyway, enjoy this blog and there will definitely be more posts in the very near future.

Many blessings!!
